What power supply should I use to get the lowest possible noise?
Last updated: 2024-10-23Most of our products are designed to operate at full performance with switched-mode power supplies. We however recommend to use high quality switched-mode power supplies such as the TPP series from Traco Power.
In most situations, a linear power supply will not improve the noise performance. It may even leak some common-mode noise that would create peaks at 50/60Hz (and its harmonics).
For products that require bipolar (positive and negative) supplies, you can use the SPS200-PN to power your board. Make sure to use the shielded version in applications with high-impedance nodes.
If you are unsure about which power supply to use in your application, please contact us.
